Spyware: PC Mag Strips Top 100 Status for InsultMonger.com
Yesterday we reported the story where PC Mag had given the Top 100 Award to InsultMonger.com, at the same time when a newsgroup posting revealed the site had spyware. So did InsultMonger install the spyware right after being given the award?
Editors' Note: Since the time we included www.insultmonger.com in our 2004 list of Top 100 web sites, the site has added a new feature: spyware. Visitors to InsultMonger will find that it repeatedly attempts to load an undesirable file from Media Motor. Needless to say, we can no longer recommend this site.
Now hopefully they'll be able to get InsultMonger to remove the graphic image in order to protect their brand.
