Upload Infected Files for Research Analysis
CastleCops has opened its [Unknown Files Forum] to all guests. Upload any unknown, questionable, or infected files to this forum for staff review and vendor distribution. This service has been available for a while now.
Introduction
Welcome to the unknown files forum. Here you can attach any files you think are questionable or unknown. Such anomolies worthy of attachment would possibly be:
- malware
- viruses
- spyware
Research & Analysis
Our team of Developers, who work and represent well known and trusted security products (aside from the staff) will be able to download these files for research and analysis to help improve their products. This will greatly help increase performance and optimization for the products many users have on their PCs today.
As a bonus it also helps folks here to help you on a new level. If you have any threads existing on this site that could help determine its nature (for instance, if you have HijackThis log threads), please procure links to them in your post. So round up any other relative threads and list them accordingly.
File Attachments
After file attachment, you will not be able to download nor even see the file, nor will any other guest or registered user. This is to ensure that accidental infections do not occur.
If a staff member asks you to attach a questionable file, this forum is for you.
