Prince_Serendip writes "The first Microsoft Security Intelligence Report noted that a majority of malware-infected machines carried backdoor Trojans or bots. Many of these machines were being used as part of the process to phish bank accounts, credit cards, and/or personally identifiable information (PII). These phishing scams are notably the prevailing Internet threat faced by the average user. In the second half of 2006, phishing took a more ominous turn, with an increase in such attacks involving children.
