Be Advised!: Super Engineer fired for Blogging at Friendster |

This is big news, and many sites (communities and blogs) are picking this up. We're hopping on the bus ride. C|Net like many others have picked up the torch to denounce the new CEO Scott Sassa for terminating Joyce Park for blogging and leaving positive remarks about Friendster. There was no warning, and no policy against blogging. Scott is a new CEO to Silicon Valley and comes from a one way medium (cable). Apparently blogging (a two way) scared him. There is now a movement on the web urging members of Friendster to cancel their accounts immediately. After all, Joyce is an engineer in the know who has contributed greatly to the community with a book and an Apache module. Many users are downgrading Friendster. Scott Sassa, in the meantime, has earned the Clueless newbie award.
