Hello,

A month or so ago we purchased AntiVir PE Premium for the six computers in our office. I had a problem with one of the computers that I haven't been able to resolve, and I'm hoping someone will be able to help.

When I try to install, I get this error message: "Setup has detected an already installed version of AntiVir. Please uninstall this version before starting setup again."

I have searched through Program Files, Application Data, Local Settings, and even the registry, and can find nothing to indicate that AntiVir was ever on that computer.

How can I get past this error?

Thanks.

Hi Cudni,

We do try to keep temp folders emptied out, but I searched for and deleted the contents of everything I could. Some files refused to be deleted:

Perflib_Perfdata_7e4
ZLT048aa.TMP
ZLT048ae.TMP
~DF2F59.tmp
~D4fD03.tmp

Of the files I was able to delete, I didn't see anything that was clearly associated with AntiVir.

I'm still getting the error message.

Try this to clean the temp files: CCleaner

I found no reference to AntiVir in any of the temp folders.

However, I ran the utility, and it found no reference to AntiVir.

Cudni,

That thread proved very helpful. Nothing was working until I found a link to an official AntiVir uninstall program and registry cleaner. Those tools can be found here:
http://www.avira.com/en/support/av7_upgrade_tools.html

I never would have thought to look at upgrade tools...

After running these two program, the install proceeded without further problems.

Thanks for your help!
