Windows Vista home premium. While trying to solve another problem I have hit a brick wall with Vista. So bear with me while I explain.
I must have initialized a new Thunderbird account somehow... Now it asks for a password to log on to this email program. I know I'm entering the right password, but it won't work. So no email for several days now.
I searched the internet and found what looks to be a way to fix the Thunderbird problem, but it requires me to look in C:/Documents and Settings... Even though I've enabled the view of hidden files, I can't see these.
I went to account settings and tried to enable full access control. Nope, won't let me saying I don't have permission.
There is only one account, password protected on this laptop. It is an administrator account or so I thought.
When I go to User accounts there is only my administrator account listed. When I go to >Change your account type, I see Administrator radio button selected.
I can't remember how I got there but when I tried to change account permissions(I think) it said I didn't have permission to change anything.
I'm stuck. Help?

Cudni is correct - Vista does not use 'Documents and Settings' as a folder tree anymore, and it keeps the reference for older applications that still try to use it. That reference is what is called a junction, if you will, which simply points to another location on the HD for the application to use as the actual place to store the info it needs to store.
Also, AppData is a hidden directory so you'll need to enable viewing of hidden objects in windows explorer's folder options, located on the tools menu. _________________ <img src="http://www.castlecops.com/zx/johnlgalt/johnlgalt%20sig.png">
