Hi , I have clicked on a link I shouldn't have from the world of warcraft forums, and would really like to know if you can tell me if this is any form of malware and if so, what could it have done to my pc or login info for warcraft. I'm currently running system scans on my pc to see if anything comes up,

First thing I did was exit IE and remove all temp files before running system scans with latest updates, using
Spybot snd
superantispyware
avg
windows defender

The link I clicked was finalclan (dot) net

all help is much apprecaited thankyou,

Links posted on the WOW forums do sometimes contain malware but in this case I think you should be ok. It's still a good idea to scan for malware.

Ok cool, After finishing scan with Superantispyware A Trojan was found
Trojan.Unclassified-Packed/Suspicious, antispyware had no problems removing it. Allthough my last spyware check was aprox one week ago I can't confirm this came from the rickrolled clip or website, as it was found on my windows xp hard drive and I was using Vista at the time, Both OS run duel boot with windows firewall defender avg superantispyware and spybot snd XP dont got defender. I ran the scans through both OS, trojan was only picked up while running superantisoyware from vista (first scan)

F:\SYSTEM VOLUME INFORMATION\_RESTORE{D9A44428-B18f-4250-8CEB-FD6477F6F7EF}\RP16A0005810.DLL

there was 4 same as ending in ****5811.DLL *****5888.DLL ****5889.DLL

Vista is located on C: where F: is windows xp

I have changed my account information using my laptop wich is used for work and never been infected with anything. to take the extra step in ensuring my account information remains safe.

To my knowlage If a keylogger was detected It would have given me a name similler to Keylogger.Awareness/WebWatcher,
My main concern was the fact if it's New malware it could be still there undetected. Wich is why I have posted here, I've gained alot of usefull knowalge here in the past.

Thanks for the reply, and anymore information would be much appreciated

Thanks , Kevin Thomas.

The malware was found in the folder used for System Restore, have you been infected with malware in the past? XP/Vista (using System Restore) may have made a backup of the old malware.
