Hi I'm looking for some help. I know very little about computers, its just for mostly internet surfing. My problem is getting onto some web sites, like I can't get onto the Walmart site. Other sites are very slow. I have a newer computer and am running Window vista. We have windows defender and norton anti virus. I recently installed to see if it would help my problem and hasn't, Spy Bot, Ad aware and Ad watch. Any help would be great. I also hove dsl connection.
Thanks
Suzanne

First delete your browser cache(s), cookies, and history. Reboot.

Then run disk cleanup, scan disk/error checking (chkdsk), and defragmentor. Reboot.

Next try this:

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_websites

The above is designed for Firefox/SeaMonkey-related browsers (you didn't mention which browser(s) you are using) but can also be helpful if you use other browsers.

OK, I deleted cookies and history and such but couldn't find how to delete cache. Also did disk clean up and defrag. but didn't find any scan disk/error checking program. And I'm still nothing has changed. I use windows explorer. Also why is it when I'm reading posts all the sentences are somewhat on top of each other. I have a wide screen monitor, but like I said in my previous post I know very little about computers. Can anyone else get on www.walmart.com?
I'll try the link in the above reply.
Thanks Suzanne

www.walmart.com works fine.

Windows Explorer is your operating system's file management system.

Perhaps you mean "Internet Explorer" (IE) which is a browser. If that is indeed the browser you are using then you should delete your temporary internet files, which is IE's browser cache.

You are going to have to learn quickly if you ever hope to be able to fix any of your computer's problems. Consider signing up for a course in Windows at your local community college, adult educational center, etc. Remember that your software's Help files and web-based search tools like Google are your friends.

Try using a non IE-based browser like Opera, Firefox, SeaMonkey, etc and see if you are able to connect to the problem web sites.
