GR8 Guest Wink

Have fun, it can take a long time ), unless you're fast like me Laughing

You should go through every item listed because you may not have the correct diver for another peice of H/W, S/W & be online as it will check for divers & upadted drivers online Smile

It's well worth it though to be sure you have ALL drivers & NO CONFLICTING devices.

Peace! heart
David

Hi Guest,

Go to My Computer & click on (CSmile properties & & click on 2nd tab that says "check computer for errors" it will ask you to do a sheduled, click OK on that. Close out of (CSmile drive & reboot your PC...

BTW...what OS are you using? XP-SPII or Vitsa Home or Home Premium, because after reboot a screen will come up that gives you 10 seconds to let it check for errors. Let it check. DO NOT touch any buttons before it gets to 0 because it'll cancel the (CSmile drive error check. It doesn't take that long.

If there are errors, PC/OS will automatically fix them, then auto reboot.

Check Device Manager again after fully rebooted & look for drivers for stuff you were having probs with, e.g.

-WAN Miniport(ip)
-WAN Miniport (IPV6)
-WAN MiniPort(L2TP)
-WAN MiniPort( Network Monitor)
-WAN Miniport(PPPOE)
-WAN MINPORT(PPTP)
- Wan MiniPort(SSTP) This one wanted me to instal on my computer, but i did not.

the system cannot find the file specified. See what happens from there & get back to me.

Peace!
David

The one in particular I was mentioning to remove and then reinstall would be the RealTek Audio drivers....

They can be a bit ornery when it comes to updating them, for some odd reason....

Continue what you are doing now and if that does not solve the problem, then go back and do as I mentioned before.

Hi Guest,

Did your PC come with reformat discs? Are you using just Vista Home when you should be using Vista Home Ultimate. The OEM "Microsoft" sticker with your activation key should be on the side of your PC tower, the side that doesn't open, or if a laptop, underneath or on back. You might have to do a re-format & I'll walk you through it & upgrade to Vista Home Premium quickly. I'm good at programming. we'll just be online posting back & forth for a while unles you trust me enough, as I'm one of the 1st to join CC & volunteered as 1st Responder for quite a while until I needed a break.

You can share a PC/Laptop with my PC & I could do the whole job for you, but we have to telephone each other & I have a headset Smile

If you're Administrator of your PC, you have to let me into some of your programs, but you can always see what I'm doing & where my mouse goes, etc. Way cool. It started with XP & others didn't have to pay mega-$$$ to get thier PCs/Laptops reformatted at that Wink

Let me know please & thank you! I'll let you know how to share PCs/Laptops! Very Happy

Guest?...Respect, Love & Peace! heart

Hi Help,

Is your old Microsoft OEM sticker with your product key on your PC? It sould be on the side that doesn't open for cleaning, installing H/W, etc. On the other side. It should have your Microsoft Product key number. It's hard to see the #s, so take a pen & paper & print them down big so as not to make any mistakes. Then you can reformat. Then they ask for your Product Key & others. After you are done, It will go back to Home Basic, but upgrade to Vista Home Premium.

Hope this helps?

Tak 'er Easy Help Wink

Peace!

Help,

You are welcome, but doing a reformat like that will just put you back to Vista Home Basic again.

Wait until you get Vista Home Premium!

OK?

Take Care & we will work things out!

Peace,
David (eascnitsuj)
