Would it be beneficial to Castle cops to seek charitable status?

Consider this:

Castlecops exists as a non-profit organisation to:

educate the general public and
voluntarily assist the general public
in matters of computer and web usage and security

which (at least in the UK) would provide a solid foundation for any application for charitable status.

Just a thought.

Thank you for the suggestion. However, this has been considered several times in the past, and due to certain considerations that will not be discussed here, has been rejected. It is still a possible route, and will probably be reconsidered again in the future.
