|
|
I'm using ESET as my AV and Online Armor as my software firewall. I was getting firewall conflicts between the 2 products even though I'd turn ESET's personal firewall off. I finally learned how to remove ESET's firewall and did so, now IE 7 will not connect to the internet. I'm having no problems with Firefox and my email is working fine.
I run Windows XP Pro SP 3, IE 7 and the effected machine is a Lenovo T61 ThinkPad.
Thanks

I checked the firewall settings, actually went to the manufacturer's help forum and used the settings they recommended but couldn't connect with IE7.
I checked IE 7 connection settings and I'm not real sure what to look for on those.
Thanks

alas IE 7 can't be reinstalled without XP being re-installed. To OP remove the existing IE rule(s) and let the firewall redo them

if IE 7 is already installed, as it is, then to repair it you can
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378
"...
1. Start Internet Explorer 7.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
4. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset to confirm.
.."
otherwise to reinstall IE 7 you need to reinstall SP
