Can someone advise re. the above on XP please - I did
have that end wherby the LH end of it was able to move
back towards the clock - I must have checked something
or other which makes it a 'Stop-End', so that the clock and
ALL icons are visible, I need to know how to get it back
to the XP original, a 'floating' LH end to the Notification end of the Systray.
Thanks.

In other words, you disabled the "Hide inactive icons" setting in the Taskbar settings.
See http://www.xp-tips.com/hide-system-tray.html _________________ <img src="http://www.castlecops.com/zx/johnlgalt/johnlgalt%20sig.png">

Thanks very much Johnl., and for the very helpful addy - a keeper - A few days ago is the first time I set eyes on my own XP - If you are still here around, I noticed something yesterday and today that will quickly drive me up the wall - Directly under the addy bar
on IE there flashes up a sentence every time it believes I should know that
"a page has Active X and won't show correctly" or something to that effect, and then click here, for an info. bar - Is there any way I can get rid of that 'flash-up' sentence permanently, or at least stop it popping up, ever.
Regards.
