I am on Win XP Pro SP2 and I just installed the latest automatic updates. After restarting the machine I was unable to access internet or email.

Initially thinking it was ISP issue I contacted same and we diagnosed that pings were working and so when I turned off Zone Alarm got my internet connections back.

So concluding it might be the latest updates I uninstalled the latest windows security update, rebooted and voila everything was working hunky dory with zone alarm.

Sorry - I didn't write down the number of the update I uninstalled, if I can figure it out I will update this post. But tread cautiously with the latest Windows updates.
