Sometime late last year after a series of computer problems and system recoverys NAV 2003 (which came preinstalled on my computer) stopped working for me completely. I couldn't get it to open at all. So just before my tech support ran out on my HP I had someone walk me through an uninstall and reinstall, it worked except the common client wouldn't update. I contacted symantec to ask them if it was terribly important that it function of course they said it was and suggested another uninstall/reinstall. I refused and have quite happily lived without the CC even though my auto protect and email scanning are permanently off. But today when I tried to update the virus definitions I get a message that "due to a transmission error one or more live updates failed to install". Everything was working fine as little as 4 days ago. What happened? I've run it serveral times and I still get the same message. I'm not a computer whiz I don't feel comfortable doing an uninstall/reinstall with no help. Hell I don't feel comfortable doing much to the computer except turning it on. I know from past experience its not as simple as taking something like yahoo messenger off your computer and then adding it back on. Can anyone help...symantec is useless...

You tried live update....

Well goto symantec.com and download intelligent updater

then run the program to update your pc... it should not fail on downloading because you have it already downloaded.
