Is there a way to disable Norton from scanning a file that I download. I dislike this because everything it scans a file my machine almost locks up sometimes to just scan a small 5.7kb file. The old versions didnt have this and my machine was fine. Now norton is constantly halting my machine to scan a file that is virus free. Any ideas?

What level and which Norton products do you have installed? Also, which operating system (Win98,WinME, Win2000, WinXP)? I have searched the Symantec website and my users guide for NAV Pro 2004 and can find no reference to scanning downloading files. What files do you download and from what sites. Are you on AOL,MSN,Earthlink type ISP's.
There is a web security product that scans all downloading files. It comes with Symantec Enterprise Solutions are you running it?
