Hello,
I have read as much as I can find about the sasser virus but this machine is rebooting even before windows starts. Not even getting a chance to run the preventative shutdown command. Any ideas please?

Hi SaffaMick! Welcome to Computer Cops!

You need a clean bootdisk with the removal tool on it for your OS. You need to boot your computer from the bootdisk. It's sort of like putting it in safemode.

Here is a place that can help you to that purpose: http://www.allbootdisks.com/

They provide free bootdisks for all Windows platforms.

Here is the info you need from Microsoft (but you've probably already read it).

Microsoft: What You Should Know About the Sasser Worm

Microsoft: Sasser Removal Tool for WinXP and 2000 ONLY

Hope this helps. Thumbs Up
