can anyone help me????
just after my windows icons appear i get an error message saying

ERROR LOADING C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\CTRLPAN.DLL
A DYNAMIC LINK LIBRARY (DLL) INITIALIZATION ROUTINE FAILED.

EARLIER TODAY THERE WAS AN ICON IN MY WINDOWS THAT I NEVER SAW BEFORE, SO AS WITH ALL THE ICONS FROM POPUPS/PORN SITES ETC THAT APPEAR I DELETED IT, I ALSO SAW AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN

Merijn (author of HijackThis) has made a tool to get rid of CoolWebSearch and its many variants.
Download CWShredder:
http://www.merijn.org/files/cwshredder.zip
Unzip, run and hit the ->next tab to fix all found problems .

Reboot.

Download 'Hijack This!'. http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip
Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, then Ctrl-A to Select All, and copy its contents here. Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, don't fix anything yet.
