Hello guys.

Have a laptop with Windows 98 installed on it with Word, Excel and a few others installed.

I can't access my applications directly (have to do so through Windows Explorer) because whenever I try to go there via the Start menu I get an error which says

"Cannot locate immwfb.exe" and I get a dialogue box asking me to locate it.

I'm stumped, as are many of the great minds whom I have asked for help on it.

Does this happen in Safe Mode too? (Restart PC, just after BIOS messages, keep the F8 key pressed, then choose "Safe Mode" from the menu that is displayed)

Also, check this and post back, right-click on any of the Shortcuts icon of a program (for example Microsoft Word), and click "Properties". Here, check the "Target" box, what is the path given there?
