I'm thinking about buying a new laptop soon and I was wondering what laptop you guys have or recommend. Also whether to get one from Apple or Windows. How much different is it anyways when switching to Apple? Are all your old Windows programs/files compatible or what...

My 2 yr old PowerBook has been fantastic. Apple's laptops get A's when it come to build quality.

Story: I had a T.I. laptop. It didn't come with Windows on media (i.e. installation CD-Roms). Why? Because T.I. wouldn't fully agree to their bullshit-laden contract. So I go directly to Microsoft to get my Installation CDs. What do they send me?
I receive from them labels. LABELS! They give me a sheet of 100 or so pre-numbered diskette labels. The instructions were to make a back-up copy onto 100 or so floppy diskettes.
Uh-huh,..right. That's Microsoft for you.

Now, am a happy Mac user.
