My wireless was running fantastic in the past few weeks, but just a couple of days ago, I've noticed my internet speed slowing down, i.e. having a constant ping of 500ms in Warcraft 3 was the biggest evidence of all.

I thought it was a virus or something malicious at first, but when I directly plugged in my comp to the modem, my internet speed was back to the way it was before slowing down, and I plugged it back it back to the router, it started to slow again.

So, was it the router's fault? I have a BELKIN Wireless G Router - 2.4Ghz-80211g. I just bought it like 3 weeks ago, and I'll be extremely dismayed by their products if it was so.

mangojoe,
I have seen router slow internet speeds, On some routers there a setting to give priority to different internet services. Check your router to see if this is enabled and disable or setup for your priority's.

Are you using the wireless and do you have a good signal or many other 2.5ghz devices around?

You might check your cable perhaps one of there is bad that too could contribute to internet slowdown since you only used 1 cable from Comp to modem and 2 for comp-router-modem.
