I am a fan of HIPS (Host-based Intrusion Prevention Systems) such as Prevx, ProSecurity, SystemSafetyMonitor, EQSecurity, DriveSentry, Online Armor, Defence Plus, Safe'N'Secure. Antihook, Mamutu, et alia.
When searching CastleCops, I cannot find a forum category that primarily & cohesively discusses HIPS software and related matters. If there is such a category, please steer me to it. If there is not such a category, I request that one be established.
Peace and blessings upon those of good will,

I am a fan of them as well, bellgamin, and consider their enlightened use to be the only viable way to secure standalone systems in the current environment. We have had discussion in the past about establishing such a forum but events have seemed to get out of hand the last few months with most new projects ending up on hold. It may be time to revisit the idea. _________________

True the articles exist. But i think you guys are being slightly misleading.
The implication is that because the articles on HIPS exist, CC is big on hips...
In fact, all 3 articles were not started or written by Castlecops staff members.
The only reason why it resides there is because it was one of the few security wikis at the time and hence was a good place to park it there.
The articles were developed 100% independent from Castlecops discussions, a one-man show with no input from anyone else from CC.
In fact the articles owes its development more to discussions elsewhere (I shall not name names) where there is far more discussion on HIPS.
So yes, I agree with the OP, castlecops isn't generally quite as "on" on this as some other forums...
