OK I've migrated mysqld to another system.

re: http://de.castlecops.com/forum/t2241-feb-2122-wwwcastlecopscom-outage.html

I have the IRT scripts disabled for now. Will activate during EST business hours.

Castecops forum is the only one I have ever had speed problems with. The forum is often unusable. Please at least get rid of this rubbish phpBB forum software. Look to Invision - or anything other than phpBB. Sad

That would be an appropriate view, however, I am believing this is a hardware issue and not an application one.

While I agree the software is dated, and lacking many desirable features, but now is not the time for a complete migration to something very different. I think at this point, the site must focus on fixing what is broke, and get stable - to the point where the site is no longer the distraction - so confidence can be restored in site admin, those that come here looking for help, and for those of us that come here to help. If performance can stay as it has for the last 20 minutes, then we are well on the way to having CCSP an Internet favorite again.

Right this moment, I am very pleased with the site's performance. Bananas The left panels are still taking a few extra seconds to fully load, but the main windows are up quick and ready for work.

Something I haven't seen for a while:

211ppm 1.124s (0.166s)

I've re-enabled the IRT scripts and they should all be running in a few moments.

Turns out an IP 148.78.245.11 (cf1.c004.g4.mrt.starband.net) was crawling us --> firewalled now.

so confidence can be restored in site admin
Hmmm.

Okay, I was drafting my 7:14 post when Paul posted his 7:12 post. MWP reports I received the reply notification post at 7:12. That was nice and quick.

When I got back to checking email and followed the link in notification, the page quickly loaded (Smile) and I discovered and read Paul's post. Then I read mine again, to make sure it made sense - never a sure thing.

My comment I quoted above can be taken in several ways. What I meant was that admin (Paul) can get his confidence back that the code is salvageable.

That was talking generally. Having been here for awhile, my confidence in the technical abilities were never in question, but as of late, I was loosing confidence there was still any desire to keep the forums running.

These forums are worth saving.

I don't know who they are but isn't that how Google and Ask collect their data?

Paul,

Performance is GREATLY IMPROVED, as experienced from a PIRT Handlers point of view. The queue-load is faster than I've seen it in months, and the time to step through each processing of a PIRT Ticket is also very nice.

I know I'm not working in the heaviest part of the day, but many pageloads are happening in sub 1 second response times.

Thank you for taking the time to apply such time and resource, and for sharing so freely to get help from so many places.

As always, I'm amazed by the dedication you and Robin show to this effort, and grateful.

Everything is running much much better, SIRT reports that I have done today have flown through and other areas of the forum are up to expected speeds.

Great work Paul in sticking with the issues which appear to be now solved and not giving up hope at any time.

Very Happy
