It might have to do with FireWire (aka IEEE1394) or with putting your laptop to sleep....
A Google search for that error message (STOP 0x0000009F) yields the following:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=wPq&q=stop+0x0000009f+vista&btnG=Search
Run through the first 3 or 4 articles and see if any of that applies. Post back with results. You might simply need to re-install your drivers (particularly for the motherboard / ACPI and / or FireWire) from your laptop's manufacturer.... _________________

Did you send the report to Microsoft using "Problem Reports and Solutions" in the Control Panel?
Sometimes you get automatic responses suggesting ways to fix the problem. _________________ Got Windows XP? Help protect your PC from malware with Microsofts anti-spyware program Windows Defender.

Let's go back to the beginning - what kind of laptop do you have, have you checked with your laptop manufacturer's help sites for possible solutions to your situation (including but not limited to a BIOS update, software update for software that is installed on your laptop, or hardware that is installed in your laptop) or any other places for this message?
Also, how did you install SP1 - through Windows Update, or in another way? If another way, *exactly* how? _________________

That is most likely your best option - although, before that, you could try getting all the latest drivers from their website first - in some instances SP1 doesn't play nicely with pre-installed drivers, and to make it work right you need to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers. _________________

Toshiba's website - they *should* have a page relating specifically to your laptop, and will have the drivers that are *known* to be working with your laptop.
I just built a machine myself, and experienced a video driver goof - Windows Update wants me to use a driver from Oct 2007, but the video card I have in there is actually a newer modded version that had initial support with that driver version but is a lot more stable with a more recent version, obtained from the manufacturer's web site (in this case, eVGA) than the one offered by WU. And, now my video is not choppy - gaming is smooth. _________________
