What version are you using? Some of the newier builds have some problems. _________________ "Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience".

Great link to a very nice program.
Very helpful indeed.
Thanks
Only question I would raise is,
What if you discover seemingly duplicate programs in your startup?
Is this possible?

Yes, it is not only possible but normal in some cases. I ran across one yesterday that the StartupList stated would be there twice and it was. _________________

If you are referring to Startup Inspector, the consult feature worked today.
FYI: Didn't read any mention that Startuplist is incorporated in HijackThis. If you open the misc tools section in hijackthis, the startuplist is available at the top.
And since there has been discussion about Startup Managers you may want to check out this one:
Starter v5.6.1.40
http://members.lycos.co.uk/codestuff/
Starter allows you to view and manage all startup programs.. It enumerates all the hidden registry entries, startup folders' items and some of the initialization files, so that the user could choose to temporarily disable selected entries, edit them, create new, or delete them permanently.
A secondary use is to list all the running processes with possibility to view extended process' information (such as used DLLs, memory usage, thread count, priorities etc.), and to terminate selected process (even a Windows NT service, having enough access rights).
Right clicking the entries in startups or processes brings up a menu allowing you to edit, delete, launch, open file properties, go directly to its file folder, go directly to its registry key or search on the net.
A quick double click on an entry brings up a window with its file, version and properties information.

It's not really much different. We we just discussing Startup Manager Programs. Starter is just another good alternative which I prefer. I use Winpatrol for all its other features.

Thanks. How can I import one of those cool icons next to my name? I would like a Boston Red Sox decal. Although I also like the "trooper" five-star designation someone gave me!!!
