I recommend at least 256mb ram, it will run "decently" although it depends what programs your're looking to run on your computer. Also, I recommend you look at what type of processor it has. AMD is better than Intel, and there are many series that have different "characteristics." A cd rom drive is recommended as well, as without it cd's are useless. Depending on how much you want to store on your cmoputer, the size of the hard drive may alos be an issue. MAKE SURE you hang on to your receit, dont want to loose that! _________________ Get Firefox

I got a gateway 2000 SOLO 2300 laptop. It says Pentium MMX 200 Mhz and 10gb hard drive and 32 ram comes with a 16x cd-drive but no floppy drive. it was $199 and it had windows 98 but the bad thing i had to buy a modem card for $25. so far the only downside about it is the battery life is only about an hour ( not sure if this is normal ) it was the only one i could afford and it seemed like a good deal. oh and i forgot to add that it was a refurbished computer. let me know if this was a good deal or not
