|
|
I have a PC running Win XP Pro and anytime the computer is restarted (either from start menu or from software/driver installs) it doesn't come back on. It seems like it goes into standby...both green lights on the tower are on, but the monitor is receiving no signal. If the computer is shut down (either from start menu or from tower) and then turned back on everything works fine.
Any suggestions would be great...

All good stuff in that link.
I would be inclined to go to your videocard site and check that you have the latest drivers. I stuck a brand new card into an XP box and experienced similar problems......the driver software was 6 weeks old, but when I went to the site there was a new one that had been released in the last two weeks!!!,.....that fixed it.
Another thing to do is go into setup and settings and disable power management, sleep, hibernate and all that. Set you box to allways on, and kill any screensaver that is running.
I assume that you have applied all the latest XP patches?
Also, try hitting the enter key twice............that works with this box when I connect a CTX liquid crystal flat screen to it, but not with CRTs.
Good Luck
