Hey All,
I don't know if this is the correct forum for this question, but I'll ask anyway, and hope someone directs me to the right site. I have windows xp w/service pack 2, and was wondering if there was a way to determine what speed my dial up connection is when I connect to my isp. It used to be displayed on my dial up thingy, but the server changed to a different dialer, and now I can't tell how fast my connection is. I used to get any thing from 48-52, but now it seems so much slower. Thanks for any help, and forgive me if I've posted in the wrong place. God bless.

Hi Jonsie,

Try these for speed tests:

http://www.inboost.com/internet-speed.html
http://www.bluetruck.net/speedtest

(The second link test you speed as the page loads, so you may have to wait a few seconds).

Run each test 3 or 4 times to get an average speed.

I used TCP Optimizer - http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/TCP-Optimizer.shtml - when I was on dialup to tweak my settings.

Hope this helps.

Mister 2

Thanks ever so much for the links and the quick reply. I tried both tests, and was really surprised to see how slow I really am, pun intended !! Anyway, thanks again, and God bless. Very Happy
