Hi ppl, i'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but there it goes:
I have 1024 MB of Ram, and i have tweaking programs that say: " Disabling driver and core paging can increase system performance on systems with 256 MB of ram, or more"

When i had 512 Mb , that didn't work because my system got slower than usual. now with 1024, is it usefull? can i play my games normally with no problems? do you experts advise me to disable that?
tks a lot, and sorry my poor english. i'm portuguese

P.S - windows xp, 1024 ram, pentium 4, 3 gigahertz

A good guide can be found HERE.

But just remember that each persons use of memory is different depending on what you run in the background and what services you have running.

Games will use a LOT, especially the newer games now.

So the best advice is to try it and see if you can play your favourite memory intensive game without it freezing or getting jittery. Smile

Just going to add my 2 cents here.

When I first went to XP I did a lot of research on tweaking. Specifically the swap/paging file. After reading more articles than I care to remember I came to the conclusion that some amount of swap/paging file was necessary no matter how much physical ram you have. So, with that said, here is another excellent article to read:
