I'm not sure about this anti vir xp, I thave up dated it 3 times since the blue umbrella change yet the umbrella hasnt turned blue? I checked the report after the update download and it kept saying error, server timed out. I just retried the download and it says my version is up to date. I went to website but I cant read German, I tried regestering for the forum but must have gotten something wrong as it wouldnt accept a post.
My question is: How do I tell if it's (anti vir xp) is updated correctly; and is my umbrella supposed to turn blue? I have the free version.
Thanks,

Hi geminipussycat,
the current version of AVPEC is:
Main Program: v6.31.00.03
Guard Service and Control Program: v6.31.00.01
VDF: 6.31.00.39 from June 11-2005
Up to the autumn the umbrella will be still red. Only then the change of colour will also affect on the "Classic Version". _________________ gruß mav

geminipussycat, there is always a lot of pressure on the servers when a new version of the program is released because so many people are trying to D/L at the same time. There are six servers and your updater will attempt to connect with each one in turn; if it fails with all of them you will be timed out and get an error message. When that happens you simply try again later.
If your updater says you have the latest version that will normally mean that AntiVir is current and no new updates are available. The updater displays the list of files installed on your machine, together a with a list of those available over the Internet, so you can compare the two lists.
It is unfortunate that H+BEDV did not make clear exactly when the colour change of umbrella is due to commence, but when it does happen both the 'Classic' and the 'Premium' versions of AntiVir will have blue umbrellas while the 'Professional' or business version will retain the red motif.
