I have AVPE Classic 6.31.00.03
On attempting to manually use the Internet Updater I continually get the message Download Error ' The File does not exist ' .
Uninstalling/reinstalling did not help .
What do I do ?

Hi ggoodwin,

It is not clear to me what 'file' cannot be found, do you mean the .vdf file on the Server or Inetupd.exe itself?

If you have created a desktop icon to update with (by clicking Scan Settings/Internet Updater/'Allow automatic internet update downloads'), you should check that the file path is correct. Navigate to C:\Program Files\AVPersonal\Inetupd.exe and ensure that Inetupd.exe is there.

Have you tried updating from and account with full 'administrator' rights (i.e. not merely a user account with administrative rights)?

Another thing to try is 'Test the settings for the internet connection...', to be found in Scan Settings/Internet Updater.

You can try loading the .vdf file manually from:-

http://www.free-av.de/updates/personal/vdf/antivir.vdf

You may also find some more information by checking the Internet Update Report located at:-

C:\Program Files\AVPersonal\Logfiles\Inetupd.log
