Have you tried doing a manual update?
Right-click on the icon in systray and select to update. _________________

Hi,
Had the same problem. I had gotten a bit too zealous in my cleaning house and turning off unneeded services.
You might want to check to make sure that you (or something else) have not turned off the AntiVir Scheduler service. It needs to be running and will only start if it is set on "Automatic".
Go to START > RUN > then type in "services.msc" (without the quotes)
Look for the AntiVir Scheduler. Under the column labeled startup type, it should say "AUTOMATIC". It should also say "STARTED" under the status column.
If either is not the case, double click on the AntiVir Scheduler name, set the startup type to AUTOMATIC, then push start, and try to update again.
Hope this helps!
