Can someone please help me. I was trying to turn off video thumbnail previews while browsing windows, and somehow I turned off image thumbnail previews as well. Now every time I want to see what picture I want to email, I have to open it in another picture viewer and find out what it is. I somehow turned it off in DOS but I forget the command that turned it off, so I forget the command to turn it on.

Hi sombramigo,

Are we talking about a DOS box.
Or some other windows OS, and you just
went into command line to make the change?

If another OS, which one?

Bad out.

I can't find the DOS command to undo what you did.
And i'm not sure exactly what that was anyway.
There are a few places in the registry your DOS command may have made changes.
Are you comfortable with editing registry values?
The first thing we can try is the following:

1. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe).
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced.
3. Double-click the DisableThumbnailCache value, or go to Edit -> New -> DWORD value to create a new value by that name.
4. Enter 0 for its value.
5. Click Ok and close the Registry Editor when you're done; you'll have to log off and then log back on for this to take effect.

If this value was already 0 we will have to go deeper and I need to know XPhome or XPpro or MC,
and you will need to check a couple of other things.
Hopefully the above will do it.

Bad out.
