click start-> run -> type: REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL and press enter -> click ok
Try again, if it doesnt work then do the following:
click -> start -> run type: regedit and press enter -> browse to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CLASSES\.htc
-> make sure the value "Content Type" should be "text/x-component" _________________ Microsoft MVP - Consumer Security 2008

Always remember to make a backup of your registry just in case you make a mistake. _________________ Are you paying too much for your car insurance?

RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior reinstall Internet Explorer 5.5 or Internet Explorer 6.
You may also resolve this behavior by using the following steps:
1. Start the computer in Safe mode with Networking by pressing the F8 key during startup.
2. Log on by using the local administrator account (the Windows Update dialog box appears that states that Windows is now updating the following items; Browsing Services, Internet Tools and System Services.)
3. After you log on, verify that the symptoms no longer occur.
4. Shut down and restart the computer, and then log on as usual.
ok i will try and do this and i hope i do it right and it works, i am a new laptop owner, and not keen on using one, so i am learning, and fast, at the mistakes i encounter, i will be back when i have done this, and tell u the outcome
thank you for your time
