Running NAV 4.0 under W98...suddenly, NAV won't run when I install updated definitions files...the last definition file that I installed (20060701) worked fine, as did all previous updates, but as of 20060731, none of the latest updated definition files will work properly...NAV declares that it can't find the boot record for hard disk #0...everything is ok if i regress to the 0701 file...is Norton weeding out us oldies?? Any thoughts??
Thanks for any response...

Cudni...
Thanks for the response...Yes, I have tried other new updated definition files...all give the same ("Can't find boot sector for hard drive #0") result... whereas my old NAV 4.0 runs fine when I regress to an older definition file... at the same time, any and all of the new updated definition files work fine in my wife's PC which is using a much newer version of NAV...I can't use her version of NAV in my PC because it won't run under W98 (she has XP in hers) ...no, I haven't reported it to Symantec Tech Support...actually, I'm looking seriously into getting a new PC for my wife; one with a very powerful video card since her (eMachines) PC slogs along too slowly for all of the video games that she enjoys...if/when I replace her PC, then I'll inherit hers which is running under XP and is still quite happy with the newer updated definition files.
Again, thanks for the response
