I uninstalled norton and when I attempted to reinstall it, I received a error that the instopst.dat file was missing. I seen it twice in the zip file. I installed the newest windows installer from windows. It did not fix the problem. I attempted to install active x. I think I did it right but it still did not help. I am also getting a error saying that some files are missing to do the installation. I attempted to install 2005 and received the same errors.

Any help please!!!! Try and explain it in plain detail. Not that good on fixing comps, just messing them up.

Thanks

Uninstalling NAV is unlike any other application on the market. Add/Remove Programs does not remove everything from NAV, so if you then try to reinstall it, you get conflicts with the leftovers.

Give this link a whirl and then let us know if it worked: Using the Norton Removal Tool
Btw, you have to use Internet Explorer with that link, with ActiveX enabled.
