I just got a new computer in January that came with Vista. (So far, I LOVE Vista!!) I have noticed that it comes with a LOT more stuff listed in the task manager than XP. How do I know what is safe to remove and what isn't? Here's what mine looks like: (You may have to click it twice to make it large enough to view. Sorry)

Hello littlecc,

You should review each listed program/process to determine whether it is needed or optional and if the latter, whether you wish to have it running in the background.

There are a number of resources available to assist you:

http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk./startup_index.htm

http://www.windowsstartup.com/wso/index.php

http://www.lafn.org/webconnect/mentor/startup/PENINDEX.HTM

And as always for tasks like this, Google is your friend. Smile
