Intermittently since I have had my network at home I cannot use the sharing facility on the Laptop. The PC is the host computer. The Network was set up for me by an IT from the shop where I had the Laptop built. I have had him back a further time because of this indeterminacy but it has now failed again and this time permanently it seems.
I am using a Billion ADSL Wireless Router with no problem staying on the internet continually. However cannot access the shared folders from the PC when working on the Laptop.
I have researched on the net and within Microsoft sites regarding sharing on a home network following and checking all items to no avail. I enclose a snap of the Laptop after opening My Computer where you can see the disconnected Network Drives. I have erased my name for security reasons.
So at this stage I am stumped unless I get my tech once again who last time fixed the problem in about a minute but will not guide me to fix it myself when this happens continually.
I will say when I 'right click' on Disconnected Network Drives x 2 showing in a further attachment I have an option to "Disconnect". Why would this be as shown in both attachments the Network Drives are already disconnected it seems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
kind regards,
Sorry these attachments are so unclear, but they are fine this end.

Hi,
I know how hard setting up a home network and sharing harddrives can be. I've experienced it myself, so that makes it easier for me to help you
Some questions to find out more
Just to be sure: You want to access the harddrive of your desktop while working on your laptop, don't you?
If you go to Start do you see a link to My Network Places under My Computer? Can you please make a screenshot of the window you get when you click on it?
Do you know maybe what the IT guy has done? Has he set up a home network using the wizard?
