Here is a method to get the "change/remove" buttons back in Add/Remove Programs: http://www.winxptutor.com/arpbuttons.htm _________________ Neurons that fire together, wire together.

Hello bias1,
What Operating System are you using (Windows 98, XP, Vista)?
Please show us a screen shot when you have opened the 'Add/Remove Programs' window so we can understand what is happening:
- Download and install the following free programs:
Wisdomsoft ScreenHunter Free
IrfanView
- Run ScreenHunter, select Clipboard on the 'To' tab and then click Standby. The screen will minimise to the system tray and await the command to capture the image on screen.
- Open Add/Remove Programs
- Press F11. Move the mouse to the top left hand corner of the area you wish to capture. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the cross-hairs down and right until you have enclosed the desired area within a rectangle. Let go the mouse button.
- The image you have captured will be stored on your Clipboard
- Open IrfanView and go to Edit, Paste. Then go to File, Save As, and type a suitable name for the file. Select '.jpg' in the 'Save as type' drop down menu and click OK. This will reduce the file size to an acceptable level.
- To show the screen dump in a thread when you post a reply, enter your text and click Preview. Beneath the text box you will see the 'Add an Attachment' box. Browse to the .jpg file, add a comment if necessary and click Submit.
I see you have started a separate thread for the System Restore problem here . Please follow mrsugg's advice in that thread to see if it helps. _________________ Never stop learning
