Does the View that one selects for folders affect memory usage?
The views are Thumbnails, Tiles, Icon, List, and Details.
I have selected the view according to the type of file for some of the folders, for example the My Pictures folder I use the Thumbnail view, for the document files I use Icon, but for some I use list. The rest I have accepted happenstance. In the folder View for non-image files I like the list view; I can easily see all that is in the folder with that view. But I dont really need the Thumbnails View as the default for any folder since it can be changed temporarily when needed.
Which View uses the least memory? _________________ saint satin stain

Hi SSS,
Presumably the list view requires less memory though you are not likely to notice the difference except possibly between the list and the thumbnail options. Thumbnails mean larger-than-icon-sized graphics instead of text, which of course means a smidge more memory usage.
Nowadays computers don't have much trouble showing either view with quite a bit of speed. On older computers you may find that the list view is just the way to go. You seem to have it on the perfect and most user-friendly setting.
