I've had several different problems trying to upgrade from XP Professional to (a legitimate, legal copy) of Vista Business. First, it got all the way through the installation and froze at 39% of the "Completing Upgrade" stage. Then, I re-burned the DVD with Imgburn so I could verify it after burning. The disc verified properly and I tried installing again. It froze 87% through the "Gathering Files" stage. I tried installing again. I came to check on it a little while later and the monitor was getting no signal. I figured this might be part of the process, so I left it alone for another hour and came back to the same thing. I rebooted the computer and here I am.

I'm running:
Windows XP Professional SP 2
Intel Celeron 3.2 GHz
160 GB Maxtor IDE hard drive (primary drive)
180 GB Western Digital IDE hard drive
320 GB Seagate SATA hard drive
1.5 GB DDR PC3200 RAM
ATi Radeon 9250

Hi Smile

Have you ran Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor?

See if you have any major incompatibilities.

I didn't have any incompatibilities at all. I ended up backing up my data and doing a fresh install, and everything is working (pretty much) fine, except that I'm getting a BSOD trying to install Adobe CS3.
