Right now I can login remotely to my D-Link Router by using :
http://20x.12x.1xx.4xx:8080,,,,(WAN IP address for D-Link router)
For a security reason, can I change the port number from default value (8080) to 9546,,,or any other numbers ?

if there is an option on the router to change/specify another port then yes
