Darn, my computer use to be fast, then all of a sudden it went kerplop. I use to have a static IP, and possibly still do, all of my downloads were speedy, and i had next to no lag in my precious video games. It all suddenly went in the opposite direction though, got lag, and the downloads got really slow. Does anyone know any programs, or processes i can use to get to the bottom of this, i want to find out if i still have a static IP, what my speed is, and anything else.
Btw I've ran a ton of malware scanners, cleaned my computer physically, and even deleted all those unnecessary files that accumulate from god knows where. So ya I've exhausted what little knowledge I had.

You should be able to tell if it is static by logging into your router. If it is static, you would have had to set it manually. Most likely if you are a home user, it is an IP address that was obtained via the DHCP of your router. You could release that IP address and obtain a new one. It may or may not give you a new IP address. _________________ Steven S. Warren
