I want to create a blog-looking website, but with features of a CMS (i think). I'm not used to either, but what i'm looking for is something that looks like a blog, but doesn't simply give You a window that says "Subject", "Content" and that's just it. When i create a new post, i want the edit-window to have custom fields for software, like Version, author, website and so on. Am i making myself clear? lol Undecided

This forum for example sure has a lot of editing possibilities while posting, but instead of just having one field where You have to add everything "manually", so to say, i want most fields already set out, so that i just can add the text in each field and have the look of each post already made nice and formatted.

What am i looking for?

hi,
sorry, but i am not sure what exactly you are looking for.
this is an internet forum, discussion board, where many users exchange different information/opinions. a blog is (mostly) maintained by an individual to report about things (ie like a diary), and a cms (content management system) is a framework, which might be what you are looking for.
with a cms, you can define the look/style of your website, allow user registration and interaction, or use it as a blog. most cms are modular, so you can extend their functionality as you like. castlecops.com is a cms. now your requirements can be easily achieved by a module for a cms, though you would have to be more specific on what you want.
very popular content management systems are Joomla!, Mambo, Drupal, Typo3, PostNuke, PHPNuke. and many more.
just check out their demos and look for modules/extensions that would fit your needs.

good luck Smile
