Have recently installed Comodo FW and cannot stop the pop-up 'Svchost.exe'
I know it is safe, but it is driving me mad, every time I log on I have to click 'allow' at least 8/9 times, it is the same when I open Mail washer and browser,
please can anyone tell me in plain english how to stop it doing this.
Have tried there forum, and all I get is to download a load of other things, I get no straight answers.
Straight answers please

Hi widgetwilk and welcome to CastleCops I know exactly what you mean about straight answers over there!
When you get a pop-up do you check the 'remember' box before you decide to allow or disallow a connection?
There are two other things I know will help to reduce pop-ups. Firstly, have you scanned for known applications? You can do this by clicking on the Security tab and then under Tasks it is at the bottom right of the screen. Secondly, again under the Security tab click on Advanced and then on the Configure tab on the Miscellaneous section and you can adjust the alert level frequency to what ever you feel is suitable .
Hope this helps BL

Excuse me for being so late in posting, have had my problems as well but with my H/W. My system is within my sig.
To HELP with those popups you can also set Comodo to 'Learning Mode' for the HIPS as well as the firewall.
Hope that also HELPS, thanks for reading my roaster postie, _________________ TIA, CU L8R, >'Lkkb'<Inspiron D531s Vista HE Pre SP1 AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core Processor O/S 32Bit 2.3G RAM 3.0Gb, IE v7.0, FFv3.0.3/w/PWM v1.7.2 & NoScript v1.8.4.1; CFP v3.5.54375.427/w CFP AV updated daily; AntiVir v8.2.xxx Up Dated daily.

Hi Ikkb, I am sure the O.P would have been using version CPF 2.4 and not version 3 which has the 'Learning Mode' function. But then as he never got back to let us know how he got on I suppose we will never know! regards BL
