AVG 8.0 Daily Scans and Updates

A week ago I downloaded version 8.0. initialy the system was scanned daily at a preset time, and the results shown.
After one week the daily scanning has ceased, does anybody know why? Have AVG changed the rules?
Also I am finding now that I have to do a manual update, i have not changed the rules in the updatemodule, but notice that if I set the Auto Update key at a specific time the AVG does not accept the input. Any ideas of what I shoul do?
