Hi. I'm just curious, is "Internet Update" is the update for Antivir virus database? Or it is just update the program and the virus definations remains old?

And how can i manually update the AVPE virus database? I check the site but i didnt saw any update for the virus database.

Last, is it really that paid av is better than free av?

Thanks. Smile

Hi silentplace!

When you update AVPE, you download the new virus definitions and program improvements from their servers. There are four categories:

Program
Engine <--scanner
VDF <--virus definitions file
DLL

You can do it from either the Main Program or from the AVGuard.

AVPE is free for single, personal and non-commercial use. Its development and utility are paid for by the Network Editions of AntiVir used by large companies. As such, you get a top-of-the-line AV, at no cost to you. Wink

Best regards

Thanks Prince_Serendip.

Another question, when i scan my computer and AVPE found a virus, it will prompt me and stop the scanning progress until i choose which actions to do. For me, i prefer for the av to scan my whole computer first, then only let me choose what to do with all the virus found. Cos' then i no need to always pay attention for the scanning progress. Is there any option that i can do to make AVPE scan my whole computer then only prompt me for the virus found.

Thanks again.

Confused

Why not try clicking the Scan Settings button, then click the Repair tab and put a tick in the check box 'Record in the report file only'.

This will mean AntiVir will only report infections and at the end of the scan you can decide what to do about the infected file (if there is one!). Cool
