Hello.
This may sound stupid, but I've used antivir now and then for about 6 months, and still I haven't found a way to scan a specific folder or file. Is there a way to do this, and if there is, how can I make it happen? Until now I've only been able to scan at least one drive at a time.
Thanks,
KNude
Edit:
I also have another question.
Is there a way to make AntiVir report its findings at the end of the scan? It's annoying that I can't just leave the program scanning my drives because when it finds something, it stops the scan process and asks me what to do. It would be better if the program just scanned the whole drive and asked what to do only at the end of the scan process. This way I wouldn't have to sit in front of my computer the whole time it scans my drives. And I also don't want for AntiVir to delete the virus files automatically.

Howdy,
To your first question - right click on to scan file or folder and click on "Scan with AntiVir"
To the second question - If there is a way I haven't found it yet. I will ask at the AVPE board in Germany. _________________ "Anyone who considers protocol unimportant has never dealt with a cat."

Thanks for the info! No wonder I hadn't found the option. I had just automatically assumed that it's inside the program.

With regard to your second question, there certainly is a way!
What you need to do is click the 'Scan Settings' button, then click 'Repair' and place a tick in the check box marked 'Record in report file only'.
This will mean that AntiVir will not attempt to repair or delete any file during the scan. When the scan is finished you simply look up the logfile to see if anything was found and then, if it was, you must reconfigure AntiVir to delete/repair (by unticking the same box and placing a bullet point in the appropriate place in the panel above); this can be with/without a promt, as you prefer.
You then navigate, in windows explorer, to the correct location to deal with the infected item, and right click it in order to click 'Scan for viruses with AntiVir' on the pop-up menu.
A simpler way to deal with the matter, once you have seen the logfile and decided you want to delete, is to just configure AntiVir to repair/delete without a prompt and let it get on with it!
