Hello , thanks for looking at this!
I am having two problems with Realtek Ethernet 100bps connection.
The first is simplw and the second quite complex.
1. How do I delete an existing network connection? If i right click on it, delete is there, but faded out. Ive trioed dragging it to the bin but no joy. Is this normal?
2. I dont know if you are familiar with a piece of software called "Teleport FX". It is designed for audio programs (VirtualStudioTechnology in particular).
It works in that it spreads your virtual instruments acroos two networked computers, thereby utilising the processing power of a second computer.
I have set it up correctly but there is a problem. Not only does the second (slave) computer use its processing power for a virtual instrument, but so does the Host. This obviously defeats the purpose.
I have a feeling that this is due to the network being wrongly configured.
Somebody mentioned IRQ's and busmastering, but it could be something else.
The "Network Utilization" percentage seems to be fine when the program is running (about %40), so its not that its overloaded, but perhaps something else is giving it trouble.
Any ideas whatsoever would be very very very much appreciated.
thanks in advance,
nik

What problem are you having that requires you to remove the drivers for the NIC (Network Interface Card)?
I don't know anything about Teleport FX but I did some reading on their site. It appears that the software is supposted to send a "job" to the slave processor then return it to the Client. This may be what you are seeing as both computers running the same thing. I really don't know and recommend that you contact the Teleport FX people directly since this could just be a configuration thing.
I don't think that your problem has to do with busmastering or IRQs since they deal with hardware on each machine and you seem to be able to send data back and forth between the computers. This would indicate that the network connection is working fine.
